LINE Emoji Submission Guidelines
A practical guide to passing the LINE emoji review process. Covers required dimensions, visibility tips, and prohibited content.
Table of Contents
Dimensions and Visibility
LINE emojis must be exactly 180x180 pixels (fixed size, not maximum). Since emojis are displayed very small in text, you should fill the canvas and avoid adding margins. Any extra whitespace will make the emoji look even smaller and may lead to rejection for poor visibility.
Animation Logic (First Frame)
Animated emojis have a strict file size limit of 300KB per emoji. Also, the first frame is used as the static placeholder. Ensure the first frame represents the core meaning, especially for text-based emojis (Deco-moji), where an empty first frame would make the static version unreadable.
Detailed Prohibitions & Common Rejections
Ensure your emoji set doesn't fall into these common rejection categories:
- Images: No duplicate images within a set. Avoid very subtle differences (e.g., mouth open vs. slightly more open) that users can't distinguish.
- Metadata: No URLs or emojis in titles/descriptions. Avoid announcement text like 'Coming on May 1st'.
- Morals: Prohibit excessive skin exposure, violence, or any content encouraging illegal substances or gambling.
- Business: Do not mention other messaging apps or include unauthorized corporate logos.
- Rights: Never use third-party characters or portraits without explicit permission (IP/Portrait rights).
